Fantasy Baseball Cram Session: Fantasy Impact of Recent Injuries

I've already spoken about injuries to Mariano Rivera and Huston Street in Thursday's version of Roto Rush. Wednesday night, Tom Herrera and I spent a good portion of our weekly Fantasy Baseball Cram Session podcast talking about other injuries around Major League Baseball. We hit upon Michael Young and Adam Jones and did some speculating on Jake Peavy.

While injuries were the main topic, we spoke about other topics, too. We talked a little about a potential platoon situation for Lance Berkman in Houston and we threw out a handful of household names that most fantasy owners should be dumping at this point.

Give us a listen after the break.

Cram Session: Gaining Ground in Your Rotisserie League

Adam LaRocheWe're at the point in most fantasy baseball leagues where the trade deadline has passed, so to make any kind of roster moves you need to rely solely on the waiver wire. But, that's not a bad thing. There's still lots of talent to be had.

In Tuesday night's version of the Fantasy Baseball Cram Session, Tom Herrera and I talked about finding different categories in rotisserie-style scoring where you can gain ground on the teams ahead of you. We focus on saves, stolen bases, wins and home runs and give you a number of players on the waiver wire who could help your team make up some of the difference between you and the guy(s) ahead of you in the standings. Listen to the podcast after the jump.

Fantasy Baseball Cram Session: Injuries, Halladay's Value and First-Half Flukes?

Mark ReynoldsIt's time for another Fantasy Baseball Cram Session, this time I joined up with Tom Herrera for my first career cram session. (Fingers crossed). We discussed a handful of guys with huge first halves and which ones were real and which were not. Among the names involved were Mark Reynolds, Adam Lind, Aaron Hill and Juan Rivera.

We also discussed some injury troubles, including ones to very important fantasy contributors like Torii Hunter and Geovany Soto. Is Vladimir Guerrero completely breaking down? What happens to Roy Halladay's fantasy value if he gets traded? Join us for these topics and more in the latest cram session.

Fantasy Baseball Cram Session: Peavy's Pain and Stars to Acquire Dirt Cheap

Kevin Correia Michael BournIn this week's Fantasy Baseball Cram Session Tom Herrera and I spent some time talking about pitchers on most waiver wires. Jordan Zimmerman and Kevin Correia are two of the better options that we mention. We also spent some time on the Pain Train talking injuries to players like Jake Peavy, Jose Reyes and Grady Sizemore. And finally in Fantasy Felony we give a few of our picks to help you out in baseball's second half.

Fantasy Cram Session: Manny's Return, J-Roll's Flaw and A-Rod's Troubles

Manny Ramirez is in Albuquerque, Jimmy Rollins isn't stealing bases, and Alex Rodriguez's batting average resembles 2008 Craig Counsell. Top picks have disappointed and the fantasy baseball world has been turned upside down by injuries (Thanks, Dice-K!). Knox Bardeen and I try to sort through the madness in this week's cram session. Check out the podcast after the jump.

Fantasy Baseball Cram Session: Injuries, Slumps and Prospects, Oh My!

What should we expect from injury-ridden Josh Hamilton and Carlos Quentin? David Ortiz is showing signs of life, but is it real? And why should catcher Carlos Santana, center, be on your list of prospects to watch? All those questions are answered, and more, as Knox Bardeen and I discuss key injuries, slumping stars, and young talent in a fantasy cram session. Listen to the podcast after the jump.

Fantasy Cram Session: Injury Blues, Demoted Prospects and Mets' Drought

What do you do when your first-round fantasy pick goes on the shelf and might even need surgery? Scarf down some Yodels and cry into your pillow? Like Jimmy Dugan said, "There's no crying in (fantasy) baseball!"

Instead, there's a fantasy cram session podcast to help you cope. If you need advice on Josh Hamilton and Grady Sizemore, want to know which recently demoted prospects you should stash, or are curious why David Wright and the Mets are in a power funk, take a listen to what we had to say late Tuesday night.

Fantasy Cram Session: Time to Fear?

Talk about inconvenient timing. When Knox, Will and I got together Thursday night and discussed some players we're concerned about in fantasy leagues, we didn't think the fallout would happen so quickly. But here we are, Carlos Quentin and Grady Sizemore were both placed on the DL over the weekend, further giving us a reason to elevate the worry meter. After the jump, hear we what we had to say about the struggles of Quentin, Sizemore and Josh Hamilton, as well as guys we've been pleasantly surprised with.

Fantasy Cram Sessions: Projecting Matt Wieters, Dissecting B.J. Upton

It's about time Fantasy FanHouse stuck its nose into all this podcast business. In our first fantasy baseball podcast segments of the year, Will Brinson, Knox Bardeen and I delve into expectations for uber-catcher Matt Wieters in anticipation of his major league debut Friday night for Baltimore.

We also talk about another young power hitter who's lost his luster, Chris Davis, and try to find out what's eating B.J. Upton. Oh, and if you're riding Juan Pierre's hot streak, you'd be wise to listen to the second segment, too.
