Looking to cycle spot-starters each day? Check out the Stream Team, where we tab pitchers that are likely to help you in your quest for fantasy gold. This will be the last Stream Team column of the season, so I'll give you two days' worth of streamers as you try and close out your championship. I'd call our first season of streaming a success, and I'll be back with the final numbers for you on Monday. Until then, let's keep our eyes on the prize and figure out who we want in our rotation on the most critical days of the season.
Saturday: Our best option today looks to be Wade LeBlanc, the San Diego lefty that was roughed up a bit (5 IP, 4 ER) when we streamed him a few days ago. This time, we have the Giants' poor offense and the fact that LeBlanc is pitching in Petco park working for us. He does face a pretty good pitcher (Matt Cain), so a win may be hard to come by. At any rate, his ratios should be solid and we should get a few Ks from the Padre. He's only made two of his eight starts at home this year, so he'll definitely have more of an advantage than he usually does.
Sunday: Minnesota lefty Brian Duensing takes the mound at home on the last Sunday of the season, and if you don't think that's a big deal, you don't know your splits. Since joining the rotation on August 22nd, Duensing has made four starts at home, and he's allowed only one run combined in those four starts. Yes, he shut out the White Sox, A's and Tigers in his last three home starts after allowing just one run to Texas on August 28th. In those four starts, Duensing has amassed a 22/5 K/BB ratio over 27.1 innings. Bottom line: he's been great, and he should dominate the Royals in Minnesota in his last start of the season.
That's going to do it. I hope you're all ahead in your H2H championship, and if not, I hope these spot-starters get you there. Good luck!
