Stream Team: Don't Stream Anyone!

Looking to cycle spot-starters each day? Check out the Stream Team, where we tab pitchers that are likely to help you in your quest for fantasy gold.

On Tuesday, Barry Zito gave us seven innings of two-run ball in a win; today, Hiroki Kuroda gave up one run in six innings while also getting a win. The two starters combined for 16 strikeouts and one walk over the past two days. Our quality-start streak is now up to 11 games, although it's in big jeopardy with tomorrow's limited action. In fact, I don't see anyone worth streaming, so I'd advise you to sit the day out. If you feel you must pick someone up, I'll try and figure out who will be the least bad.

Wade Davis is coming off a terrible road outing, and I wouldn't play him until I see him rebound. Mark Hendrickson has a good matchup against Davis but is re-entering the rotation and likely won't throw enough pitches to get us a win. Justin Masterson has pitched well, but he's taking on surprisingly-solid Oakland offense and likely won't get much run support from his offense. That leads us to Clayton Mortensen, but in his last two outings he has a 1/5 K/BB ratio, despite earning a win in his last start, which came at Minnesota.

The best I can come up with is Brandon Morrow, who gets to face the White Sox at home. Morrow returned to the rotation on September 12th, giving up three runs in five innings while only striking out one batter. The intriguing part about this matchup is his opponent, as the White Sox have just a .677 OPS over their last five games and do much worse against righties than lefties.

I'm not too optimistic about Morrow, so again, I'd suggest just sitting the day out and maybe streaming a reliever or two. If you do roll with Morrow, good luck!
