Looking to cycle spot-starters each day? Check out the Stream Team, where we tab pitchers that are likely to help you in your quest for fantasy gold. With the lack of options available to us yesterday, I have to say I'm pleased with the effort turned in by Ryan Rowland-Smith. He wasn't going to get us another win, since he was facing John Lackey in Anaheim, but he went 7 innings and allowed just 3 runs, striking out 5 guys along the way. I hope those 5 Ks will be the difference in your H2H playoff! We streamed Hiroki Kuroda today against the Giants -- hopefully he'll stick to his impressive ratios in a win.
In a massive switch from yesterday, we have many solid available options today. As a result, I'm going to hit you up with a list of possible streamers, and I think you'd benefit from grabbing the first guy available to you. If you've got a couple roster spots open for streaming, tomorrow is the perfect day to make your move.
I'm streaming two guys in my own league: Jamie Moyer and Vicente Padilla. Moyer finds himself back in the rotation and did a very good job in his September 6th start at Houston. David Wright is 5 for 9 against Moyer this year though, and Carlos Beltran has also been very successful against the lefty. While Moyer was great in his last start against the Mets, he's not my top option.
Padilla has made three starts for the Dodgers, going 2-0 with a 2.76 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 16.1 innings. Colorado and Arizona have found Padilla less hittable than he's been in his time with Texas. He draws another NL West offense, the San Francisco Giants. In San Francisco, he might not be the best candidate for a win.
However, Jonathan Sanchez starts on the mound for the Giants, and despite phenomenal numbers over the last month (2.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 41 Ks in 31 innings), Sanchez only has one win to his credit. Padilla should give us another quality start, and if the Dodgers continue to dominate Sanchez (0-3, 5.35 ERA in 33.2 career innings against Los Angeles), then Padilla should pick up the win.
Here's the promised list of possible streamers. Use it wisely.
1. Vicente Padilla, LAD at SF2. Brett Anderson, OAK at MIN
3. Tim Hudson, ATL at STL
4. Ross Ohlendorf, PIT at HOU
5. Jamie Moyer, PHI vs NYM
6. Wade Davis, TB at BOS
7. David Huff, CLE vs KC
8. Tim Stauffer, SD vs COL
9. Doug Fister, SEA at TEX
10. Anibal Sanchez, FLA vs WAS

I'm using Padilla tomorrow as well. I'm most interested in what Wade Davis does. Best of luck...
