Poppin' out the box scores and right into your cubicle, the Roto Rush is your double espresso shot of fantasy baseball advice every weekday. With Chris Davis safely tucked away in Triple-A Oklahoma City, Andruw Jones feels that he deserves more at-bats for the Texas Rangers. The way he's been hitting over the last month proves his point.
Jones belted three home runs on Wednesday and has 11 RBI and five home runs over his last four games.
Over the course of the past month, Jones has hit nine homers and driven in 19 runs. If his batting average were higher than .224 over that time period Jones would really be forcing the hand of Rangers' management. As it sits right now, Jones will see more playing time at DH, but may not see every-day at-bats, yet.
"He swung the bat well against Tampa Bay," manager Ron Washington said. "He's swinging the bat very well right now. It doesn't mean he'll be in there [Friday]. He may or may not be. But he's productive right now and I'm going to play him as much as I possibly can."
Full-time at-bats or not, Jones is currently locked in. As long as he stays that way and in the Rangers lineup, he can help your fantasy team. He should be around on most waivers wires at this point. If your team could use the jolt of power that Jones can provide, it seems like a good move to take a flier.
Bits From the Box Scores:
• Wandy Rodriguez was hurling on Wednesday and I don't mean that he got hold of some bad clams. Rodriguez threw a complete game shutout, striking out 11 and walking only one batter. He's now won three of his last four starts.
• Martin Prado continues to shine in his new starting role for the Braves. It's been a little over a week since he replaced Kelly Johnson at second base. Since doing so, Prado has 18 hits and is batting .473.
• Max Scherzer pitched well enough for the win on Wednesday even if the box score doesn't say so. Scherzer struck out nine in seven innings of work but settled for a no-decision. Scherzer hasn't given up more than three earned runs in his last seven starts dating back to June 6th. But, he only has three wins to show for the great pitching he's been providing the Diamondbacks.
• Jose Lopez continued his hot hitting, belting a home run, a double and two RBI on Wednesday. Over the past month he has 19 RBI and is batting .321 with six home runs.
• Homer Bailey had his second quality start of the month of July on Wednesday but still doesn't have a win to show for it. He threw six innings last night and gave up two earned runs while striking out six. In July he's 0-0 with a 2.71 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 13.1 innings.

• Scott Kazmir, in his third start since coming back from the DL, gave up seven earned runs on Wednesday. It was the first time he'd been shelled since his return but he still doesn't have a win since May 9th.
• Finally hitting double digits, David Ortiz blasted a home run on Wednesday and now has ten on the season. Over the last month he has eight dingers and is batting .288.
