Looking to cycle spot-starters each day? Check out the Stream Team, where we tab pitchers that are likely to help you in your quest for fantasy gold. With one week in the books, the Stream Team has a 40% success rate, but we're going to need to be much better to erase those stink-bombs thrown up on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Our first two streamers are back on the hill tomorrow, but I would avoid Jordan Zimmermann in Colorado and Kevin Correia away from Petco Park. Today's best bet to help is the $126 million man, Barry Zito.
Zito has had a very up-and-down season, with the downs much more severe, resulting in a 4.82 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 16 starts. Home is where Zito pitches his best, with those ratios lowering to 3.89 and 1.27 respectively at AT&T Park. He's also been able to post a very good 33/13 K/BB ratio at home this year. One more positive outlook to his start tomorrow jumps off the page of his game log. He's been rocked for five earned runs or more in four starts, including last week's start in St. Louis. Zito overcame those previous three terrible starts by throwing a quality start at home in his next outing.
Zito's next start comes at home against the Marlins, who post a bottom-ten .695 OPS away from home and struggle against lefties. While the Marlins have been winning games lately, they generally do so with great pitching, as they only tend to score between three and five runs in each game. With Josh Johnson on the hill for the Marlins, this could be a tough game for Zito to win. I do have confidence in his ability to bounce back from rough starts and in his quality numbers at home. Welcome to the Team, Barry.

You should mention Doug Davis as well. At home facing the woreful Padres. The Padres were second last in the majors in OPS last month and have hit under .600 in the past 7 games. Davis had a W and 6 shutout innings at SD back on June 5th. Not a strong WHIP or K candidate but should aid in ERA and possibly a win.
If you have a few other strong starts, I'd got Zimmerman for the upside on Ks. The only team that has hit worse than the Padres the past seven days are the Rockies. I'm going with Zimmerman first and then Davis as my second option.
